This is great. It is really in depth and covers just about the component of screenwriting. This is a must have if you plan on writing screenplays. It is perfect for beginners and experts. This is far beyond the basic how-to's, this book is a must to read for anyone who has a screenplay idea come wandering into their mind. This was one of the first screenwriting books I ever read and I have been in the business for many years. Robert has great insight and lessons, he is a master. There are many books on the market today for beginners, but in a nutshell this is a wouldbe Screenwriter's Bible, should be one of you top choices before sitting down at the keyboard.
As a successful, award winning writer for television, film and theater I often check out books about writing offered as useful, knowledgeable, helpful, et al, and generally find them to be bloated, valueless, and offering little to prove that the authors know what the hell they are talking about. NOT THIS BOOK. Bob McCullough KNOWS WHAT HE'S TALKING ABOUT, AND LAYS IT OUT CLEARLY, USEFULLY, AND TALKS STRAIGHT ABOUT WHAT IS REAL, AND WHAT IS HOGWASH.
