Walter E. Gosden, a historian and award-winning author, is a lifelong resident of Floral Park. In addition to being the village historian and a founding member of the Floral Park Historical Society, he is also a member of the Association of Public Historians of New York State and former vice president and director of the Society of Automotive Historians. He has been an art teacher for over three decades.

As a long time resident of Floral Park who relocated 10 years ago, I really enjoyed this book. There are so many pictures in the book that I have never seen before and that is coming from someone who loves Floral Park history. Some buildings have been torn down, some still remain and the author does a great job pin pointing the location of the pictures.I'm not sure what Regina David's husband was thinking in the review: "The history is too old and all about the rich part of town". The book is, after all, the history of Floral Park. The book covers information from the 1890's to the Tulip Bowling alley gas explosion in 1987. and the comment on the "rich part of town" made absolutely no sense.
Good to see so many home town photos from my childhood. Terrific memories.
for my parents who were born and raised in Floral Park. Even though many of the pictures are before "their time", they enjoyed the trip down memory lane.
Great! Just what I was looking for. Born there. Saw pictures of my grandfather too! Trip down memory lane and enjoyed facts, pictures and layout.
My husband, who grew up in Floral Park, did not like to book. The history is too old and all about the rich part of town.
It brought back a lot of memories for me plus I learned things that I never knew about my home town.
