I read the first book, The Replacement Wife, probably 2 or 3 years ago and remembered that liked the book, but not Chloe. No idea why it's taken me so long to read this one, but I decided to check it out when I saw it while scrolling through my ever-growing TBR collection.I had no love for Miss Chloe in the first book. Funny how I liked her almost immediately in this one. She was definitely a changed person. Or, as she said, she was finally free to be the real Chloe. Her girl Lichelle still needs some folks to pray for her, though, cause she is much too much.Chloe and Dustin both had been living on the wild side, and I liked that neither tried to judge the other. They may not have been upfront with each other about their pasts, but when their truths came out, they didn't hold the things they'd done against each other. And thThis was a good, quick read. A definite reminder that no matter what you've done, God loves you.
Chloe is a single black female with a very checkered past. Her former 5 year relationship to a billionaire didn't end very well…and she made him pay for it. Now, she's in DC and she's looking for love.Dustin is a retired NFL player that has a checkered past as well…four children by just add many baby mothers and a dwindling bank account. He is now a saved man who is also looking for love.The two meet and sparks fly, but can they get over each other's previous life?I consider this book to be a Christian Romance. It drew me in from page 1, and just when I was really getting into it, it abruptly ended at 75%.😫 For this reason alone, I am giving it 💎💎💎💎.If you've never read a book by @tiffanylwarren, you have no idea what you're missing.
Chloe was introduced in an earlier story, The Replacement Wife as a scheming plotting gold digger. In that story Chloe's rich boyfriend ditched her for a singing praying nanny. Chloe was hurt but she wasn't stupid. She consulted an attorney and received a huge settlement. In The Replacement Husband, Chloe moved to Washington, DC for a fresh start. Chloe changed in Washington and was now on a mission to find love . She met Dustin McArthur, an ex NFL. Dustin had also made mistakes in the past. Dustin had four children by four different women and money problems. Can the two of them find love and their forever happy ending? I enjoyed reading this story. Chloe proved she could think of others and not just herself. She and Dustin both came clean to each other about their past. Dustin was an honorable man and not looking for handouts. I only wished Dustin could have gotten custody of three of his children. His baby mamas did not seem like suitable mothers. Their primary motivation was to collect a paycheck from a rich athlete.
I enjoyed this novel but felt it could've been a little more in depth. The concept of losing your first love and starting off looking for another rich beau and then ending up with one that has nothing to offer but love was great, its just the ending was very abrupt and then 25% space was left to fill with 6 chapters from another book that could've extended the story to me was not the best way to fill up the book. I like Tiffany's writing style but I hope every novel does not describe the male character with light eyes and a great physique because Dustin was described like Quentin. Over all I did like the book it was a quick read and I will eventually read The Bishops Daughter as well.
Chloe finally finds her true love and face her truth. I saw her from a different angle in this book . She was vulnerable and open t finding love. Dustin definitely wears his heart on his sleeves. He was a good man who loved hard and paid a hefty price for it. I wish there was more to his story with more details on his daughters and their mothers. This was an amazing read!
This was an ok read. Chloe finally finds her Mr. Right and he wasn't rich. But after suing Quentin, she didn't deserve to marry a rich man. IHowever, I was disappointed that the story ended so abruptly. I was interested in Dustin's future endeavors, whether he regained some portion of his riches, what happened with the baby mamas, etc. So much missing.
Love is unconditional. True love looks beyond your faults & flaws and is willing to stick around no matter what. In just a couple months these 2 fall in love, but they're both withholding parts of their past and/or future from the other because they don't want to risk losing the other. Will their secrets bring them together or set them apart. I enjoyed Chloe & Dustin's story. Chloe was definitely more likeable & turnt down in this story. The was a page turner for sure!!
I have to say I was a little hesitant about Dustin & Chloe because both had to be honest about their pasts before a relationship could get out the gate. I was pleased with how all the issues were handled. Dustin had arrived in a place that Chloe was trying to heal from after her last relationship. Ms. Warren did a wonderful job telling their story.
